Here we go again!

I missed out on telling you (my blog/journal) about the amazing time we all had for three weeks in August out west camping-fishing-hiking-boating-visiting family-BBQing-reunioning-playing hard. I may get to that, but in the mean time, I'm getting our homeschool back up and running. Now Luke is starting seminary and getting back into his Algebra 2 program that he left off in May. He'll be reading some Renaissance classics like Dante's Inferno and studying Physical Science. Last week he finally passed off his BSA swimming test (he hates to swim) so now he can advance toward his Eagle, after stalling out, and we've got a lot of merit badge work to do. So that's all good.

Seth is a running maniac, and every other day or so he gets fresh bruises -- poor little face! But short of putting him in shackles, I don't know what to do besides picking him up and kissing him whenever he gets a fresh boo-boo. And keeping him away from sharp edges and precipitous drops of more than a couple inches.

Quinn decided to work two jobs while he's waiting to go on his mission -- Cafe Rio and Cox Farms (the latter with Luke). He's taken up his Life of Fred Calculus book and is reading Les Miserables too. Maybe singing lessons and Institute also?

Adri is back into school working toward her Economics degree. She has a job at the Cougar Eat and is living with some fun roomates from last year -- VERY close to the football stadium, so she's happy.

Lindy and Nick are in China teaching English for four months at the Xingtai Lantian Bilingual School. They get all their expenses paid in exchange for teaching 20 hours each week. It's an adventure! They'll be back in January, and Nick will do one more year to finish his Masters, after which, who knows!

Paul and I just certified to become foster-to-adopt parents.  We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for the next chapter of our lives.  Please know in advance that when we get a foster child we cannot say very much about him/her/them.  If we're able to adopt, it usually takes a year, and there's about a 50% chance that the child would return to his birth family.  So we'll appreciate your love and concern, but can't answer your questions.

Paul is still in the bishopric and will be going to Las Vegas so that he'll be released -- I MEAN -- so that he can help with the National Mining Expo put on by NMA this month.  I am still the Primary music leader, and am now on the board of LDSHE as Marketing Director, which I know nothing about.  But I'm learning, and that's what life is about, right?
